Thanksgiving

Wow can you believe that the holidays are already here! We had a really good time for Thanksgiving this year. We went up to Virginia to spend it with Mike's family and other than Hailey crying for about an hour and a half on the way up we had a great time. We got there on Tuesday and the weather was just beautiful so we decided to go to the National Zoo with Hailey and Caitlin. It was so beautiful going in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. Hailey even seemed to like the big animals but anything small she didn't pay much attention to. I think next year she will really love it.

Hailey and Caitlin really hit it off this trip. This was the first time that they really showed interest in each other and by the end of the trip Hailey was giving Caitlin kisses on the mouth. That is big because she has never even come close to kissing anyone other than me or Mike. They were so adorable together between taking baths together and playing on Caitlin's bed. It would be really great if we could get back to D.C. soon so they can grow up together.

Our little Hailey is also turning into quite the girly girl. She has really been into shoes lately. I bought her a pair of fur boots and she wouldn't let me take them off her, she just wanted to walk around and strut her stuff! She is really turning into quite the ham as well. She has the cheesiest smile now and she loves it when people watch her act goofy. I think little girls are just the cutest thing on earth and I'm so lucky to have my sweet Hailey!

I can't believe I forgot the most exciting news! Hailey is now a walker! She started about 3 weeks ago and now she just walks around and gets into everything! It is so adorable to see such a tiny person just walking around!

Playground Fun

Our neighborhood playground finally got some swings so since the weather has been nice we have been taking Hailey down to swing almost every day. She really loves it and we end up pushing her for at least 15 minutes before she is willing to get out and play on something else. She just recently started enjoying going down the slide but she always trys to climb back up which never ends well.

It's amazing to see her learning new things. She has really been into pointing at things over and over. especially lights. I think she likes to hear me name what she is pointing at and hopefully soon she will be spitting out words herself. Today at our Gymboree class she amazed me when she started doing the motions along with the song we sing at the end of class. She is really starting to understand what we are saying and it is just so cool!

Some cute new things

Lately Hailey has been intersted in utensils and trying to use them while we are eating so I thought it would be a good time to introduce them to her. I bought her a little plastic set and she has really enjoyed feeding herself with them. Of course I have to help her still but she is getting pretty good especially with the fork. If I put the food on the fork she will pick it up and get it right in her mouth. It's so cute watching her learn all these new skills.

We have really been trying this past week to get her to fall asleep on her own since Mike and my backs are all messed up from the months and months of bouncing her to sleep. She has been doing well as long as I am in the room and she can see me until she falls asleep. When we started this I gave her a small teddy bear to hug and she really clings onto it while she is falling asleep. It's really cute to see her hug and cuddle it!

I had to put this picture up, tonight she found a pair of mike's ear muffs he uses when he's at the range and Hailey wanted me to put them on her. I guess she liked them because she wore them around for about 20 mintues before she wanted them off. It was really funny to see her wearing them.

Halloween

Halloween has always been one of my favorites so I was excited this year that we could dress Hailey up. We didn't want to pick a mainstream costume so we ended up using her Asian dress and she went as a geisha. She looked so adorable and even though she didn't know what was going on we enjoyed trick or treating at a few houses. Unfortunately I think we have a sugar monster on our hands, Mike shared a lollipop with Hailey and once she got a taste of it she didn't want to give it back! Don't worry auntie Julie we brushed her teeth after the sweets!

We were also invited to a couple Halloween parties this week so she had a chance to dress up as a doctor in training as well as a cheerleader. We had a good time and next year hopefully she will understand more and we can decorate the house and go all out!
